If you’re coming from Seville, you have the option of the A-49. The distance is some 140 kilometres and you can either drive or take an inter-city bus from Seville’s bus station in Armas Square. Once in Ayamonte, take the H-9021 and at the roundabout you come to after passing the golf course, take the A-9022 to Isla Canela.
Coming from Huelva you also get to Ayamonte via the A-49, either heading for Seville on the H-31 and turning off at exit (salida) 77 signposted Ayamonte – Portugal (A-49); or leaving Huelva on the A-497, turning off for Aljaraque, carrying straight on until you come to the second roundabout and taking the second exit off it. Stay on the A-492 until you get to the link road with the A-49. Once in Ayamonte, take the H-9021 and at the roundabout you come to after passing the golf course, take the A-9022 to Isla Canela. These journeys can be done by car or inter-city bus.
If you were coming from Faro, you’d take the Portuguese IP-1 motorway and after crossing the International Bridge, you’d be in Ayamonte. Once there, take the H-9021 and at the roundabout you come to after passing the golf course, take the A-9022 to Isla Canela. You can drive, take an inter-city bus or use our Transfers service between Faro Airport and the hotels on Huelva’s coast.
